Registered childminder

As a mother of 2 children, I'm fully aware of the struggle of finding quality, professional childcare, which fits in around busy working parents lives, hence why I founded Building Blocks Childminding Service in 2013.

I've always had a caring nature, Before 2013, I worked as a carer for adults with learning disabilities and also caring for the elderly in the local community.

I believe in home-from-home childcare and treat the children I care for as if my own.

Building Blocks! Your home-from-home childcare service.

As a registered childminder I aim to provide a childminding service for babies and children of all ages, to learn and develop in a safe, secure, home-based environment to ensure each child develops to their maximum potential. I work to the ‘Fountation Phase’ framework which encourages learning whilst playing methods and planned activities, as well as free-play time to allow freedom of choice and promote independent thinkers and learners. I also use local playgroups  to encourage your child to interact with children of similar ages and to ensure your child will be ready for reception when the time comes, these playgroups are also bi-lingual to help your child learn Welsh medium.

Before starting Building Blocks childminding service in 2013, I worked over 10 years as a carer for adults with learning disabilities and also caring for the elderly.

I'm active and enjoy being outdoors, exploring the local area such as Parc Howard, Millennium coastal park, Pembrey country park, Margam Park and to the beach to name a few. At home we enjoy art activities, songs and stories.

I offer all sorts of play opportunities for the children which will help them with their Social, Emotional, Intellectual, physical and creative development for example.....baking, imaginative play, construction toys, drawing, crafts, puzzles, storytelling, messy play. Close by to my house we have a park, the beach, a number of playgroups and the library.

I've a qualification in Children’s Care Learning and Development level 3 diploma, and plan to progress to the course to maintain my skills and increase knowledge in the career which I love.

My service is open to all children, with equal opportunities and with consideration to individual needs or special requirements.  Children with special needs are welcome but a discussion will be needed to establish as to whether I can meet the needs.

I am available Monday to Friday 6am to 8.30pm but can be flexible to suit your needs. I also offer a before/after school club as well as a babysitting service. I accept childcare vouchers.

If you wish to ask me any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
